Well it doesn't look like the diode has anything to do with the light staying on as I bridged it yesterday and the light stayed on. Will have a go at removing the external regulator tonight hopefully and maybe that will fix the problem. Also my temperature gauge isn't reading where it used to (the gauge barely moves past the "C") so might try and swap over my temperature sensor from my L18.

Aside from that I've been driving to work in it every day and seems to run fine 8)
I've been meaning to update pics for ages now but can't upload them at work and have dial-up at home :(

Will definitly make uploading pics a goal, now that I'm getting less and less to work on ;)

Took the external regulator out last night and now the charge light has gone away so that is good.

Swapped my temp sensor from my L18 into the Z18 to see if that changed where it reads when up to temperature and it hasn't. Whereabouts is it meant to read? Mine gets to just past "cold" when it's running, is that all good?

Make sure your thermostat isn't missing or stuck open, that'll make it run cool.

After driving it for a bit the temp gauge seems to be working ok now :P

Unfortunately looks like my second hand VL Commodore pump has given up the ghost, hopefully should have a brand new one by the end of the day :)
